AMMAN — Senator Taghrid Hikmat on Wednesday represented Jordan in an Arab Parliament delegation visiting Sudan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Arab Parliament delegation’s visit affirms its support to the north African country during its political transition currently under way. The visit also seeks to maintain the Arab Parliament’s contact with various Sudanese parties and harmonise their perspectives to ensure peace and security, Petra said.
During the visit, the delegation met with Chairman of the Transitional Military Council Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Burhan and a number of political party representatives. As leader of the delegation, President of the Arab Parliament Mishal Bin Fahm Salami welcomed the agreement between the Transitional Military Council and Declaration of Freedom and Change Forces about the formation of a joint council to lead Sudan during the transition period.
