AMMAN — USAID and the Ministry of Health on Monday celebrated the achievements of the agency’s Health Systems Strengthening II (HSS II) in improving Jordan’s health sector, according to a statement from USAID Jordan.
The five-year project, which was launched in collaboration with the ministry, the Royal Medical Services (RMS), the Higher Population Council and the University of Jordan (UJ) Hospital has worked to strengthen health systems and improve the quality of primary, and reproductive healthcare and safe motherhood services since its inception in 2009.
The USAID project upgraded the obstetrics and neonatal departments at six ministry hospitals, two RMS hospitals and UJ Hospital.
It also equipped their departments with “state-of-the-art equipment”, improving services to mothers and their children, the USAID statement said.
