Hammad, Interpol official talk cooperation

AMMAN — Interior Minister Salameh Hammad and Interpol Secretary General Jurgen Stock on Wednesday met to explore bilateral cooperation.

Talks went over the Kingdom's efforts to improve international police cooperation and information exchange to combat transnational organised crime, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Hammad reaffirmed Jordan's position against terrorism, highlighting the need for enhaning international cooperation to raise awareness about the dangers of extremism.

Talks also went over the repercussions of the refugee influxes, referring to strains on Jordan’s education and healthcare systems, water and infrastructure. Stock highlighted the Jordan-Interpol partnership, including training programmes as well as police and security cooperation.
