AMMAN — The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) has signed contracts with Saudi Aramco and Iraqi Sumo to buy two million barrels of crude oil during April, with one million barrels received so far, CEO of the JPRC Abdel Karim Alawin said on Tuesday.
The remaining barrels are expected to arrive by the end of the month, in addition to 2 million barrels during May, he said.
The JPRC chief said that “the best option” to protect from the risk of price fluctuations is purchasing quantities of Saudi light crude, which is refined at the JPRC, at the current market price and storing it for future use according to the needs of the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
