AMMAN — Gunshots hit three power distribution outlets during a fight in Kafrein in the Southern Jordan Valley, the local director of the Electricity Distribution Company (EDCO) Saeed Obeidat said on Sunday. The gunshots cut the power supply to medium-voltage wires that feed the Baptism Site, Shuneh and Zara-Maeen areas, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Obeidat said the shots caused a “big fire” in the Southern Shuneh and Baptism Site areas, which broke a power transformer and disconnected the power supply between the main station and the two outlets. EDCO reported the incident to the concerned security agencies, Obeidat noted, adding that the company’s personnel repaired the damages and resumed power supply to the three outlets.
