AMMAN — Head of the Pulmonary Diseases and Guest Workers Health Department Ibrahim Mashayekh on Tuesday said that the department has recommended the deportation of 88 guest workers who were diagnosed with diseases including pulmonary tuberculosis, AIDS and hepatitis.
Mashayekh said that statistics for the first quarter of 2018 showed that 41 guest workers have pulmonary tuberculosis, 25 hepatitis and 22 foreign employees have AIDS, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He noted that the deportation of these workers will be implemented in cooperation with the ministries of interior and labour, adding that guest workers from restricted nationalities, like Gazans and Syrians, are not deported if proven to have contagious diseases, but instead receive treatment by the Health Ministry.
