AMMAN — The Higher Ministerial Committee charged with studying the restructuring of the government deparments held a meeting on Saturday, headed by Minister of Local Administration Walid Masri.

During the meeting, the committee discussed the institutional structure of the transport and energy sectors in light of proposals submitted to restructure them, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The committee specified a set of proposals and recommendations for study and stipulated that decisions taken must complement the governmental steps aimed at restructuring institutions and merging and cancelling departments, in accordance with the requirements of administrative reform. The government has merged and cancelled 10 independent institutions and government-owned companies over the past two months.
