AMMAN — Officials from the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and the German city of Dresden on Sunday discussed means to boost cooperation between both sides. The talks were held on the sidelines of a workshop held at Al Hussein Cultural Centre.
This workshop is part of the German government’s cooperation with countries affected by the refugee crisis to improve the livelihood of refugees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
This workshop aims to prepare a guidebook for renovating buildings according to the international health standards and rehabilitate agricultural methods on rooftops.
Deputising for the GAM’s mayor, Deputy City Director for Health and Agricultural Affairs Mervat Mheirat said that the GAM, through the sustainable urban development project and in cooperation with United Nations Development Programme, is preparing a blueprint for a sustainable city, which Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh launched two months ago.
The three-day workshop will include field trips to GAM-affiliated social services centres.
