AMMAN — The Ministry of Health has been tackling the coronavirus pandemic in partnership with various sectors and local manufacturers, notably ensuring the logistic needs, medical devices and pharmaceutical manufacturing, Health Minister Saad Jaber said on Monday.

During a meeting with the UN Gadara Initiative to honour the frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jaber stressed the ministry's readiness to "handle the pandemic and control the rate of infections within the required range", pointing out that the ministry will distribute COVID-19 vaccine after ensuring its efficacy.

Lauding the ongoing public-private partnership, the minister called for more “creative and impactful community initiatives” that provide the country with comprehensive care and community security.

"Despite the limited potential, Jordan has set a model for investing in the human element," said media adviser Samer Khader in a speech delivered on behalf of IIMSAM’S Goodwill Ambassador in Jordan Farej Omari, head of Gadara initiative.
