Fuheis Municipality signs agreement to boost employment opportunities

AMMAN — The Fuheis Municipality has signed an agreement with the International Labour Organisation to embark on a joint project aimed at fostering employment opportunities through labour-intensive infrastructure initiatives for the sixth phase, with funding amounting to JD210,000 from the German Development Bank the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday. Mayor Omar Akroush said that the grant aims to hold projects to support local communities, noting that work would start immediately to build pavements, plant trees and rehabilitate yards. Akroush said that the agreement will positively reflect on the local community by providing safe walkways, increasing the green areas and providing temporary jobs for the youth. He added that the municipality has other draft projects that serve citizens and these ventures will be implemented once necessary funds are secured.
