AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Wednesday stressed the need for scaling up the efforts of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries to mobilise an international stance against the Israeli annexation of a third of occupied Palestine.
Speaking during a virtual open-ended extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee at the level of OIC Member States’ Foreign Ministers, Safadi emphasised that the annexation will “wreck” the peace process and make the one-state option — which institutionalises discrimination — inevitable, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The meeting was held upon an invitation from Palestine, with the participation of the foreign ministers of the OIC Executive Committee’s member states, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Gambia and Niger, in addition to the foreign ministers and representatives of 33 OIC member states.
