FM meets with Syrian counterpart ahead of Arab consultative meeting

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi on Monday met with Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Faisal Miqdad.
The meeting came ahead of the Amman-held consultative meeting of the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt and Syria — hosted by the Kingdom.
Safadi and Miqdad discussed the strategy of implementing a leading Arab role to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis based on the Jordanian initiative and other plans from Arab nations.
The two ministers also addressed border security, combating drug trafficking, water and refugees, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
