FM delivers King’s letter to Egypt president

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Tuesday met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. 

Safadi conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah’s greetings and a letter focused on strategies to strengthen cooperation and cement the deep historical bond between the two nations, according to a Foreign Ministry statement. 

The letter also included efforts to resolve regional issues in the pursuit of peace, security and stability.

In return, President Sisi extended his greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah.

The meeting, attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service Maj. Gen. Abbas Kamel discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations, marked by steady growth.

They further emphasised the importance of increasing trade exchange to reflect the depth of political ties and shared historical bonds.

The discussions also went over the Palestinian cause, where both sides highlighted concerted efforts to revive the peace process through unwavering coordination between both nations.

They also underlined the importance of intensifying international initiatives aimed at achieving a comprehensive and just peace, based on the principles of the two-state solution and in accordance with legitimate resolutions and accredited references.
