First group of Jordanian pilgrims departs for Mecca

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Awqaf Minister Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal on Saturday saw off the first group of Jordanian pilgrims leaving for the holy city of Mecca to perform the Hajj, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister conveyed the King’s greetings to the pilgrims and his wishes for a safe Hajj (the greater Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca), stressing that the ministry has taken all the needed measures to support Jordanian pilgrims for this year’s Hajj.
Abul Bassal said that more than 100 busses for transporting Jordanian and Palestinians of 1948 left for Mecca on Friday, adding that 187 busses and 18 backup busses will depart the Kingdom in the coming three days.
