AMMAN — The Aqaba Civil Defence Department, supported by other stakeholders, on Wednesday extinguished a fire that erupted in two warehouses storing tyres, paper rolls and electric appliances in the southern beach area.
The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said that despite the fire's large span and high temperatures, specialised teams managed to extinguish the fire, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Firefighting operations continued for several hours, given the nature of the materials burning, the spokesperson said, noting that there were no casualties. Meanwhile, the Aqaba Logistics Village Company said that the concerned authorities formed a special investigation committee to determine the cause of the fire, Petra added. The company commended the efforts of all official authorities for their rapid response.
