Fayez commends Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties

AMMAN — Kuwaiti investments in the Kingdom stand at some $18 billion, Senate President Faisal Fayez said on Tuesday, calling for increasing these investments based on the "strategic" partnership between the countries.

During a meeting for the Jordanian-Kuwaiti parliamentary friendship committee with Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Dihani, Fayez commended Kuwait's stance towards the Kingdom and its support to help Jordan overcome various economic challenges, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Dihani expressed his country's keenness to strengthen ties with Jordan and build them in various political, economic and investment fields. He also said that there are some 5,000 Kuwaiti students at Jordanian universities.

Senator Mustafa Barari, head of the committee, said that the meeting overviewed the latest regional developments, mainly those pertaining to the Syrian crisis, the Palestinian cause and unifying efforts to end Middle East crises.
