‘Environment minister selected as advisory member of int’l initiative’

AMMAN — Islamic Reporting Initiative’s (IRI) Advisory Council has selected Environment Minister Taher Shakhshir as one of its members to work towards furthering sustainable and ethical business practice in Jordan and across the Islamic world, according to an IRI statement.
IRI was launched in 2015 and gained the support of international businesses, governmental and nonprofit organisations, and educational institutions, according to the statement. Its mission is to make corporate social responsibility reporting standard practice for organisations, across all sectors, responsibly advancing economic opportunity in the Islamic world, according to the IRI website.
