Energy Ministry, ESCWA discuss joint renewable energy projects

AMMAN — Specialists from the Energy Ministry and officials from the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) on Wednesday discussed ways to enhance joint projects, particularly in the fields of renewable energy and capacity-building. Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh commended the cooperation between Jordan and ESCWA, particularly in the energy sector.
The minister stressed the importance of such cooperation in implementing several renewable energy projects which have impacted the community by enhancing the contribution of local energy sources to the overall energy mix, according to a ministry statement.
For her part, Chief of the Energy Section at ESCWA, Radia Sedaoui, reviewed the joint projects and the importance of the schemes in improving the standard of living of the target groups and enhancing the Kingdom’s renewable energy sector.
