Energy minister stresses importance of resuming Egyptian gas supply

AMMAN — Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh stressed the importance of resuming the supply of Egyptian natural gas to Jordan next year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday.
During his meeting with Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla, Kharabsheh outlined developments of the energy sector in the Kingdom and the role of the ministry in enhancing the domestic resources.
Molla, who concluded a three-day visit to the Kingdom on Saturday, also briefed Kharabsheh on the Egyptian government's plans and strategies to deal with the new discoveries of natural gas at the Mediterranean Sea, especially Zohr Field which has begun production last year.
During the visit, the two ministers checked on stations that generate electricity using Egyptian gas.
