AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) on Sunday thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of narcotic pills, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The Public Security Directorate (PSD) media spokesperson said that AND received intel concerning a group of people planning to smuggle large quantities of narcotic pills into the Kingdom through a border crossing.
The AND seized 80,000 narcotic pills hidden inside plastic pipes in a cargo vehicle and arrested the suspects involved. Meanwhile in Maan, the department arrested a suspected drug dealer who is “notorious for intimidating the public and smuggling narcotic substances”. AND raided the location and arrested the armed drug dealer, who is classified as “dangerous”, according to the PSD.
