AMMAN — The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship on Sunday signed a partnership agreement with IrisGuard, outlining the use of iris recognition technology in both government and private sector services.

The partnership agreement marks a significant breakthrough in the services provided to citizens and residents, further enhancing the journey of digital transformation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Under this partnership, IrisGuard will offer a comprehensive range of services, including the activation of the digital ID (Sanad) issued by the ministry. The process will be simplified through iris recognition, available at all Jordan Post offices and the Kingdom's embassies worldwide.

The agreement encompasses the provision of notary services related to property ownership, real estate and vehicles, through iris recognition technology.

The implementation of this agreement will commence gradually in the upcoming weeks, with plans for future expansion to other government sectors.

This includes incorporating iris recognition technology in areas such as the electronic gate for travellers and healthcare services. Moreover, a package of services will be extended to the private sector and residents in the Kingdom.

The signing ceremony featured the presence of Ahmad Hanandeh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Emad Malhas, CEO of IrisGuard.
