Customs Department chief meets with JCC delegation

AMMAN — Jordan Customs Department (JCD) Director General Maj. Gen. Abdelmajid Rahamneh on Sunday met with a delegation representing the Jordan Chamber of Commerce to discuss issues of mutual interest, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the meeting, topics related to customs value, appraisal, receipt of customs data, subjects of the national window of trade, customs laboratories, data clearance, financial claims, e-commerce, customs inspection, and intellectual property law and trademark infringement were discussed, among others.

Director General of Customs and the accompanying team of directors of directorates and customs centres answered all the questions and inquiries posed by the members of the Chamber of Commerce, 

according to Petra.

A number of measures were taken to bolster cooperation between the public and private sectors, in implementation of the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah in creating a fertile investment environment.

The chamber's Vice President Jamal Rifai stressed the central role of the Customs Department in facing the pandemic by facilitating the trade process within the transport and supply chain as well as its prompt response to the demands of the commercial sectors, according to Petra.
