Crown Prince follows up on implementation of King’s directives to utilise digitisation to cope with COVID-19 impact

AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Thursday followed up on the implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives to adapt to the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), especially in digitisation.

 

Crown Prince Hussein spoke to Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Muthanna Gharaibeh and stressed the importance of digitisation as a national necessity amidst the current circumstances, according to a Royal Court statement.

 

His Royal Highness said that expediting efforts to complete the e-government programme is needed to improve services offered to the public, calling for involving the private sector and start-ups in seeking technical solutions for providing e-government services.

 

Following up on Royal directives, the Crown Prince also underscored the importance of strategic planning by the state to counter any future challenges through a unified national registry and a national database that details strategic reserves in all sectors.

 

His Royal Highness called for investing in Jordan’s successful management of the COVID-19 crisis to secure job opportunities for young Jordanians, especially in outsourcing and exporting electronic solutions, the statement said.
