Crown Prince follows up on efforts to enhance cyber security

AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Wednesday stressed the importance of enhancing cyber security to safeguard public and private institutions in Jordan.
During a meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace with the relevant stakeholders to follow up on efforts to enhance cyber security, Crown Prince Hussein noted an increase in cyber threats in Jordan and around the world, according to a Royal Court statement.
At the meeting, attended by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh and General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, His Royal Highness highlighted the important role of the National Cyber security Centre in protecting vital sectors.
The Crown Prince underscored that bolstering cyber security contributes to providing an investment friendly environment, calling for utilising global expertise and cooperating with Jordan’s international partners in this regard.
His Royal Highness was briefed on the cyber security strategic response plan 2022-2025, which aims to upgrade infrastructure, develop resources, raise awareness, and unify the institutional response to cyber attacks.
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain attended the meeting.
