AMMAN — A cold air mass is predicted to impact the Kingdom on Friday, with snowfall expected in mountainous areas late in the evening, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

The JMD forecasts that temperatures will witness a slight increase on Wednesday, bringing relatively cold weather around the Kingdom and warm weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

For Thursday, the JMD forecasts relatively cold weather and possible rainfall late at night in the northern part of the Kingdom and in some central areas.

The cold air mass on Friday is expected to lower temperatures significantly, bringing heavy rainfall in some areas at night, with powerful gusts raising dust in the Badia, according to the JMD.

Over the weekend, the JMD warned of slippery roads, the formation of torrents in areas that witness heavy rainfall and hail, as well as dangerous gusts of wind and low visibility both in mountainous areas due to fog and in the Badia due to dust.

The temperatures in Amman on Wednesday and Thursday are predicted to see a high of 16°C during the day and a low of 7°C at night, while on Friday they are forecast to drop, ranging between 11°C and 3°C.

Mercury levels in Aqaba are forecast to reach a high of 25°C and a low of 12°C on Wednesday and Thursday, while on Friday they are expected to range between 20°C and 9°C.
