Church leader commends King’s renovation of Holy Sepulchre Church

AMMAN — Chairman of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs Ramzi Khouri on Tuesday voiced appreciation for the role of His Majesty King Abdullah in renovating the Church of the Holy Sepulchre at his own personal expense.

Khouri also commended His Majesty’s efforts to maintain the strong bonds and ties of Islam and Christianity, a distinctive feature of the Holy City of Jerusalem. He also referred to the common fate of Islam and Christianity in facing Judaisation endeavours in the occupied city.

He also said that King Abdullah’s renovation of the tomb of Jesus Christ’s in the church of Holy Sepulchre and the Baptism Site is an embodiment in practice of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian cites, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
