AMMAN — Christians in Jordan celebrated Palm Sunday, which falls on the Sunday before Easter and commemorates Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, where the city’s residents received him with palm and olive branches, according to Christian beliefs.
Prayers were held for the end of the COVID pandemic in churches across the Kingdom, remembering the national efforts made amid the crisis and the healthcare workers at the forefront.
Worshippers also prayed for Jerusalem to remain a holy city of peace and love, and that the basic rights of freedom, dignity and access to Islamic and Christian places of worship would be fully respected, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
