AMMAN — The Dante Alighieri Society in Amman has launched a campaign to promote the PLIDA certification for the Italian language with two programmes: Promo-PLIDA and Focus-PLIDA, according to an Italian embassy statement.
The PLIDA certification evaluates skills in Italian as a foreign language, according to the society’s website.
Launched on June 22, both programmes are part of a project implemented, in cooperation with the head office in Rome, to relaunch the certified teaching of the Italian language in Jordan.
Supported by the financial contribution of the head office in Rome, Dante Amman is granting 60 per cent discount on the preparation courses and PLIDA exam fees for levels A1, A2 and B1 to all students of Italian, the statement said.
The preparation courses are online, from the July 25 to September 12, and will focus on strategies to help students to successfully pass the four parts of the certificate: Listening, reading, writing and speaking. Exams will then take place at Dante Amman from September 16-28.
PLIDA certificate is recognised by the Ministry of Labour, and the Ministry of High Education to enroll on Italian universities, according to the statement.
