AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday endorsed amendments to the bylaw of Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army’s (JAF) development and investment projects and security apparatuses.
The amendments seek to draw attention to the defence and security industries, with the goal of institutionalising and developing the sector and establishing a dedicated security and defence unit to oversee its operations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During the session, chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, the Council of Ministers also endorsed amendments to the bylaw providing shelter for human trafficking victims.
The bill aims to establish psychological and social rehabilitation programmes for the victims. The Cabinet also endorsed the legislative justifications for the bylaw of electoral constituencies for 2023, before sending it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau.
