Cabinet approves deal for Korean loan

By Petra - Jul 22,2015 - Last updated at Jul 22,2015

AMMAN — The Council of Ministers on Wednesday approved an “arrangement” agreement to be signed by the governments of Jordan and South Korea for a complementary loan totalling $12.804 million.

Jordan will use this loan to pay for additional costs for the Jordanian nuclear reactor project for research and training at the Jordan University of Science and Technology.

In 2010, the government signed an agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) to finance the project.

The Cabinet on Wednesday also decided to beef up Jordan’s diplomatic missions at several world capitals. The decision is in light of the government’s growing need for more follow-up on key bilateral and multilateral files.
