AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) has acted on intelligence and follow-up by the Military Intelligence Department and concerned authorities to dismantle a network smuggling weapons, drugs and terrorists through, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday, citing an army source.

The source said that the plan was prepared and implemented by a group of terrorists and drug traffickers using the old oil Trans-Arabian Pipeline, which links Jordanian and Syrian borders, as well as Jordanian and Iraqi borders.

The source said that the network of terrorists, drug and weapon smugglers used a house near the border, as well as the pipeline from where they dug several tunnels for the purpose of smuggling and terrorist operations.

The relevant technical units of the Royal Engineering Corps had been instructed to destroy the tunnels and place the pipeline above the surface of the ground, which could have been a smuggling loophole for the traffickers, smugglers and terrorists who have tried to use all methods to carry out their criminal acts, the source added.

The source stressed JAF will stand firm against the hostility of terrorist groups, who are by every possible means a threat to the security and stability in Jordan.
