Arabiyat condemns Israeli violations at Al Aqsa Mosque

AMMAN — Awqaf Minister Wael Arabiyat on Monday condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ arrests of Al Aqsa Mosque guards, who assist visitors and worshippers at the holy site, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Speaking by phone during the “Eye on Jerusalem” programme broadcast by Jordan Television, Arabiyat said Israeli violations were recurrent and included the admittance of Jewish extremists to the Muslim compound, which he described as a flagrant violation of international conventions.
The minister said there were 800 employees in the Jerusalem awqaf department and added that work was under way to employ a further 200.
