AMMAN — The first international conference of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) seeks to reach a pan-Arab unified file for medicines and to establish a council for medical monitoring within the Arab League, JFDA Director Hayel Obeidat said on Saturday.
At a press conference to announce issues on the agenda at the event, scheduled for Thursday, Obeidat said the summit would attract 27 countries, 54 speakers and 600 participants, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The conference will discuss ways to attract investments in the medical sector; the role of monitoring institutions in guaranteeing the safety, effectiveness and good manufacturing of medicines based on international standards; and challenges facing the sector, the director noted.
