AMMAN — Print editions of Al Rai newspaper on Monday were reported to have increased in sales by 8.7 per cent during February and March of this year.

Al Rai’s hard copy sales in some municipalities witnessed an 18 per cent increase during February and March, while print sales in Amman increased by 5 per cent during the same period.

The leap in hard copy sales reflected a significant development in the newspaper’s trajectory, as part of the editorial board’s plan to enhance the publication’s professional content.

Over the past two months, the newspaper has increased its focus on municipal issues and affairs, in addition to changing its approach in handling topics important to readers and aspects of the editorial process.

Al Rai is currently developing a plan to improve its role — online and in print — and to increase the quality of its professional and institutional work. The plan is being closely supervised by Al Rai’s board of directors and executive administration.

Al Rai’s board of directors will present the development plan at the next general board meeting set to take place next month, along with its new media and training branches, which aim to cultivate the institution’s financial, human resources and administrative departments.
