AMMAN — The “Al Khair” Account committee of the Ministry of Social Development on Sunday approved an independent and certified legal auditing firm for the account.

Head of the Committee Reem Abu Hassan said in a statement that an agreement was made with Kawasmy and Partners Company (KPMG) for audit, tax and advisory services to audit the account’s technical and administrative procedures and to initiate the procedures for auditing payments and disbursements.

This covers payments already disbursed, which total JD767,000 and covered 15,000 families of daily wage workers, as well as those that will be disbursed in upcoming rounds, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Abu Hassan said this step falls within the framework of procedures for good governance and transparency standards for disbursing funds.

Hatem Kawasmy, the executive partner of Kawasmy and Partners Company, said that the firm volunteered to conduct the audits following the defence order activating this account designated to receive donations to assist daily wage workers and families affected by the coronavirus crisis.
