Cabinet approves human resources guidebook for public sector

AMMAN –– The Cabinet on Sunday approved a guidebook to assess human resources departments at government agencies. At a meeting chaired by acting prime minister Amin Mahmoud, the Council of Ministers also endorsed a guidebook to regulate these departments.
The books were prepared by the Ministry of Public Sector Development in cooperation with the Civil Service Bureau and funded by the USAID's fiscal reform project, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of human resources in government agencies.
The project is part of the 2014-2016 executive plan to improve the performance of the public sector.
Also on Sunday, the Cabinet agreed to open an embassy for Nicaragua in Amman.
