17 NGOs to receive grants under EU governance programme

AMMAN — The Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs said on Saturday it completed the assessment of 58 grant applications by civil society institutions, of which 17 were found in compliance with the requirements and will be awarded grants.

The NGOs will be awarded grants totalling 1.4 million euros to implement projects under the EU Support to Democratic Governance Programme.

The NGOs will work to support women and young people and increase their participation in public life, raising their awareness of democratic values.
