Renowned as a chivalrous legend in Chinese classics, Sun Wukong, or Monkey King, embodies the ideals of justice and bravery. He is an icon among teenagers.

Based on the story of Journey to the West, one of China's four great classical novels, 34 artists have worked together to create the Monkey King book series. This series has been translated into over a dozen languages and published around the world over the past 40 years.

In 2023, the series was published in Arabic by Blossom Press, bringing the beloved character Sun Wukong from Asia to the Middle East.

Orange Jordan launches 10,000 Mbps fiber

Orange Jordan announced in a press conference that the company is now offering unprecedented fiber speeds of 10,000 Mbps, standing as the first in Jordan and the Middle East.

Orange also announced the launch of 2,000 Mbps fiber speeds as another first in Jordan, in continuation of its efforts to provide more quality, reliability, speed and best services to the subscribers. 

The new speeds are an added achievement to Orange’s portfolio in providing high speeds, where it was the first to launch 1,000 Mbps for fiber in 2018, in addition to leading the fiber market where it obtained a certificate for the fastest fiber Internet in Jordan for the year 2022 from SpeedChecker.

Commenting on the importance of the new speeds, CEO of Orange Jordan, Philippe Mansour, said: “These fast speeds will create a leap in the broadband Internet market, especially fiber in Jordan, as part of our continuous efforts to enhance the infrastructure and provide the latest and best solutions that enable our customers to enjoy unmatched experiences. Joramco, the Amman-based maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider and the engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), held its annual company iftar on Tuesday at the Intercontinental Hotel, Amman, for its employees to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan where the CEO started the gathering by shedding the light on the top achievements of 2022 and the outstanding results.

Aqaba Container Terminal fosters community prosperity in Aqaba

Falling in line with its aspiration to promote Aqaba’s prosperity and growth, and make a positive impact on the community, Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) recently renewed its partnership with Tikyet Um Ali to increase the number of beneficiaries.

Tkiyet Um Ali is a non-profit organisation providing food support to vulnerable communities in the Kingdom.

The agreement was signed between ACT CEO Soren Jensen and the Director General of Tikyet Um Ali Samer Balkar.

Commenting on this occasion, Jensen said: “ACT is proud to announce its continued partnership with Tkiyet Um Ali. The additional funds allowed the organisation to assist 2,124 beneficiaries instead of the 1,152 reached last year and provided them with the critical nutrition and food assistance they require. We are excited to be part of this vital mission and look forward to making a positive impact on the community. 

Soren added that caring for the well-being of the citizens in Aqaba and its surrounding communities is fundamental to the way the company aspires to do business; thus, it is committed to achieving a balanced society where opportunities are available to all.

ACT conducted its annual Ahl Al Khair initiative, through which it distributed vouchers to disadvantaged households, which could be exchanged for necessities and groceries from selected stores in Aqaba. 

The company has also cooperated with the Directorate of Social Development in Aqaba to support those in need in the coastal city and nearby villages. 

Moreover, ACT established collaboration with the Helping Hands Organisation for Relief and Development to supply 150 food parcels to their recipients in local areas.

AMMAN — Child anxiety, stress, self-esteem, values and identity were the focus of an interactive discussion between parents and Rania Sa’adi, a licensed rapid transformational therapist and clinical hypnotherapist with Family Flavours magazine, at The Children’s Museum Jordan (CMJ). “Today our teens and children are under a lot of stress and anxiety, beyond their years,” Sa’adi said citing social media, the internet, different family structures and the pandemic as being the major causes. It is thus crucial for parents to understand what children are going through in order to help them, she added.

Through the Ambassadors of Family Health & Wellbeing programme, a partnership between CMJ and Al Marji’ Publications, parents are given the opportunity to openly discuss the latest methods and find out more about research which aims to support and strengthen the health and well-being of the family by experts at Family Flavours’ and Nakahat ‘Ailiyeh magazines, according to a statement sent to The Jordan Times.  The programme consists of fourteen free monthly sessions with Family Flavours and Nakahat ‘Ailiyeh experts from various specialisations. Whilst parents attend these workshops, CMJ offers to supervise children under 6 years old at a nominal fee.
