Gift from the enemy

Those who sat trying to find or fabricate a mistake in Jordan's handling of the issue of displacement, just as they spun misleading narratives against Jordan during the aggression on Gaza, have reduced the entire serious matter in a simple file, and ignored that displacement is, first and foremost, an assault on the Palestinians. They did not focus on the Palestinian Authority's account into the matter, nor that of Israel's and Arab countries', but, instead, they immersed themselves in building a narrative a story to tarnish Jordan and the King.

When His Majesty King Abdullah was meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House, the misleading narrative emerged through a mistranslation of the King's words, which Reuters apologized for a week later. This misinformation became the basis for campaigns targeting the King personally and Jordan's positions. Unfortunately, some "Jordanian" entities became part of these campaigns, obediently following the orders of their foreign masters, as the King pointed out on Monday during a meeting with veterans and ex-servicemen.

However, destiny turned this malice into a great gift for Jordan, its leadership, and people. The response from Jordanians was strong in foiling these campaigns; they took to the streets to welcome the King, sending a political message that reached everyone. Afterward, Reuters itself issued a retraction. The King's speech during his meeting with veterans capped the scene, turning it into a political and national gift presented to Jordan and the Jordanian state by its enemies and opponents. It became an issue that united Jordanians during a difficult time and strengthened their bond with their country and leadership. The King appeared, as always, strong and decisive in his political stance, and the disgrace fell upon those entities, both inside and outside, who are not concerned with condemning the policies of the occupation but are focused on slandering Jordan and portraying it as a betrayer of the causes of the Arab nation.

Today's scene reveals that the King succeeded in Washington by presenting the Arab perspective in rejecting displacement. His Majesty appeared strong in announcing his position, which is the position of the state. Jordan is part of the Arab context working to confront displacement, and domestically, there is a cohesive, positive internal Jordanian sentiment. The state is strong, managing the issue wisely and firmly, and the ruling establishment is solid, both internally and externally.

The great gift Jordan received from its enemies and opponents was their reliance on lies and disinformation, causing their conspiracy to fail. As for the followers of foreign powers within our borders, they have no credibility and are in their weakest state. If the state were to apply the law, it would find support, even encouragement, and demands from the Jordanians. This is not a political opposition but rather a lie and slander against the country and an attempt to create an image of Jordan as a traitor to its own land.

Sometimes, harm can turn into benefit. What would have repeated in new slander campaigns has now revealed the lies of those who claim to love Palestine, showing they work with the mentality of proxies to their foreign masters. They are not concerned with Palestine; their goal is to slander Jordan.
