Authorities foil drug smuggling attempt at Jaber crossing with Syria

AMMAN — The Jordan Customs Department (JCD) and the Public Security Directorate on Monday announced they foiled an attempt to smuggle 237,000 narcotic pills at the Jaber border crossing.
JCD Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Saed Ashour said that security personnel at the crossing on the northern borders with Syria foiled the attempt after suspecting two trucks and searching them, where the personnel found the narcotic pills hidden in tables and baby beds, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
JCD Director General Maj. Gen. Jalal Qudah voiced appreciation for security personnel and their ability to deal with various criminal techniques in smuggling drugs.
