Safadi congratulates new Kuwaiti foreign minister

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Thursday made a phone call with Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Al Yahya, congratulating him on assuming office.

Safadi expressed his enthusiasm to work with Al Yahya to strengthen the "distinguished" relations between the two nations and enhance cooperation in various fields in line with the directives of the two leaderships and serving the mutual interests of the two countries, as well as Arab and Islamic issues, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Yahya reiterated his country's commitment to advancing cooperation with the Kingdom and maintaining coordination on regional and international issues for the benefit of both nations.

The ministers discussed regional developments, strategies to end the war against the Gaza Strip, ensuring the protection of civilians, upholding the principles of international humanitarian law, and the urgent need to deliver humanitarian assistance to the Strip.
