AMMAN — The Department of Statistics (DoS) revealed on Sunday that the Industrial Producer Price Index, during the 2023 January- November period, dropped by 4.40 per cent amounting to 135.67 points compared with 141.92 points in the same period in 2022.

DoS said that the decline is a result of a 5.37 per cent decrease in the transformative industries price index and a 1.13 per cent drop in the price index of electricity, while the extractive industries price index went up by 2.84 per cent, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The industrial producer price index for November of 2023 decreased by 2.95 per cent, reaching 136.42 points compared with 140.56 during the same month of 2022, the DoS added.

The General Industrial Production Quantities Index dropped by 1.23 per cent in November 2023, reaching 136.42 points against 138.11 points in November 2023, according to DoS figures cited by Petra.
