Students deny ‘assault’ by minibus driver after emergence of video

AMMAN — The Family Protection Department has investigated a video shared by a media personality, in which she reported witnessing an incident in which a minibus driver allegedly assaulted a group of students in front of a public school. The Public Security Department’s spokesperson on Saturday said that the investigations led to identifying both the vehicle involved and the driver, resulting in the driver’s arrest. During questioning, the driver refuted the allegations, the spokesperson said, adding that all the students present at the scene were called in for questioning, along with their parents. The students were examined by a specialist doctor, where he found no signs of severe violence or assault. The students denied any assault, the spokesperson said and their families refused to file any complaints about the incident. The Public Prosecutor has ordered a further investigation into the alleged incident, The Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Friday.
