70,525 students pass Tawjihi, at 63.4% of test-takers

AMMAN — The overall pass rate of the 2023 General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) was 63.4 per cent, the Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday.
During a press conference, Mohammad Kenanah, examinations and tests management director, said that the pass rate in the comprehensive academic branch reached 64.5 per cent, and 70,525 students passed the exam, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The scientific stream recorded a pass rate of 75.4 per cent. The literary stream had a pass rate of 55.7 per cent, while the pass rate in the vocational stream stood at 60.7 per cent, Kenanah noted.
As for private-study students, he said that the pass rate reached 62.4 per cent in the academic branch and 57.3 per cent in the vocational branch.
The top achiever in the scientific stream was Tala Sheikh Saleh, who scored a 99.8 per cent, while the top achiever in the literary stream was Najah Bani Khaled, who scored a 99.85 per cent, he said.
Kenanah highlighted the ministry’s measures to ensure the smooth and effective administration of the examination, emphasising the ministry’s commitment to a professional and transparent process, especially in addressing the feedback received during the examination, particularly in relation to specific questions in mathematics and chemistry, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
