6 suspects arrested in drug raids — PSD

AMMAN — Spokesperson of Public Security Directorate (PSD) said on Sunday that personnel from the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) are continuing their operations in tracking drug use of all kinds in the Kingdom.
In the past few days, the department has dealt with numerous cases in Mafraq, Amman and Zarqa which involved six drug dealers, traffickers and wanted suspects in possession of large amounts of narcotics and weapons, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
In Mafraq, AND arrested three suspected drug dealers and traffickers after raiding their houses and finding large quantities of narcotics and two weapons.
The department dealt with two cases in Amman, one of which ended with the arrest of a drug dealer classified as “dangerous”, who was in possession of 21 palm-sized sheets of hashish.
Another case involved arresting a suspected drug dealer in possession of nine palm-sized sheets of hashish and 2,000 narcotic pills.
In Zarqa, a suspected drug trafficker holding 12 palm-sized sheets of hashish was arrested after a raid on his home.
