AMMAN — Anti-Narcotic Department (AND) personnel have carried out a security campaign in the Ruwaished district, leading to the arrest of four wanted fugitives who were found in possession of two palm-sized sheets of hashish and 2,000 narcotic pills.

The spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Monday said that a number of suspected drug traffickers were also arrested after the department handled three different cases in Mafraq and Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In Mafraq, a suspected drug dealer was arrested after police raided his residence, where a search yielded six palm-sized sheets of hashish and 1,000 narcotic pills.

After tracking two individuals, one of them a non-Jordanian citizen, while transporting an amount of illicit drugs from Mafraq, agents arrested both traffickers, and found seven palm-sized sheets of hashish and an unspecified amount of crystal meth in their possession, the spokesperson said, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In Amman, a non-Jordanian drug dealer was confronted by officers after confirming that he was in possession of 1,000 narcotic pills and four palm-sized sheets of hashish, the spokesperson said.
