Crown Prince Foundation reaches 2.5 million Jordanian youth 

AMMAN — Throughout the past eight years leading to HRH Crown Prince Hussein’s upcoming wedding day, the Crown Prince Foundation’s (CPF) projects and initiatives have reached over 2.5 million Jordanian youth across the Kingdom governorates as of the end of 2022.

The foundation was established to oversee the implementation of the Crown Prince’s initiatives, with the vision of encouraging an ambitious, young Jordanian workforce.

Tamam Mango, CEO of the foundation, said that CPF began establishing offices outside of Amman in mid-December 2022, executing more than 177 activities and events that benefited over 15,000 young men and women by building their capacities and enhancing their participation in society.

Mango affirmed that the CPF offices work hand-in-hand with public and private sector institutions and civil society organisations in implementing diverse programmes and activities, reaching remote areas, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Nujoud Serhan, deputy executive director and manager of the foundation’s Initiatives Department, noted that CPF’s initiatives cover various sectors, highlighting the establishment of Al Hussein Technical University. The university was established with the goal of developing technical education in Jordan and providing the labour market with trained and qualified young employees in technical fields.

The university stands out for its focus on practical application in all its theoretical courses, and enjoys engineering workshops and modern scientific laboratories, which were built in partnership with industrial and business institutions, she said.

Among the university’s initiatives is “TechWorks”, a digital manufacturing laboratory equipped with modern devices, aiming to support young innovators, Serhan added.

Serhan also highlighted the “Naua” Platform, a national platform for fostering collective social impact. Developed in collaboration with the private sector, Naua aims to instil philanthropy, cultivate a sense of social responsibility and establish connections between charitable organisations, individual donors and companies.

She also mentioned the “Nahno” platform, a national initiative for volunteering and youth engagement created in partnership with UNICEF and the Ministry of Youth.

Turning to the topic of leadership within the institution, Serhan highlighted the “Haqiq” initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. This initiative aims to cultivate values of citizenship, leadership and community service.

Serhan also discussed the Youth Excellence Fund initiative, which aims to foster excellence in performance and knowledge within various sectors.

The CPF has undertaken the development of the “Hussein Footsteps” programme, which encompasses several tracks: Leadership skills training, guidance, cognitive training, practical training, volunteering and the challenge phase, she added.
