35 trainees graduate from primary healthcare diploma programme 

AMMAN — Deputising for HRH Princess Muna, president of the Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC) and patron of nursing and midwifery in the eastern Mediterranean region, Ruwaida Maaitah, chairwoman of the board of trustees of Yarmouk University, on Monday attended the graduation of 35 trainees from the primary and reproductive healthcare vocational diploma programme.

The training programme, carried out in cooperation with the JNC,  targeted nurses and midwives working at UNRWA’s health centres in Jordan, West Bank and the Gaza Strip,  the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Maaitah stressed the importance of the partnership between the JNC and UNRWA, in the success of the training experience of male and female nurses and midwives working at UNRWA in primary healthcare from Jordan, the West Bank and Gaza.

She called for more partnerships to enhance nursing services in the region, and commended the efforts of the JNC in training.  

Director of UNRWA Affairs in Jordan Olaf Baker expressed appreciation for Princess Muna’s continued support for nursing and midwifery at local and international levels.

Secretary General of the JNC, Hani Al Nawafleh, said that the council has signed, as a national regulator for nursing and midwifery, a group of agreements for cooperation and building partnerships at national, regional and international levels, to develop the nursing profession.
