PM, Romania defence minister note strength of bilateral relations

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday met with Romanian Defence Minister, Angel Tîlvăr, and an accompanying Romanian delegation during their visit to Jordan.
The prime minister emphasised that Jordanian- Romanian relations are “strong”, and expressed his keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation within the European Union, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Khasawneh highlighted a wide range of areas where cooperation between the two countries could be strengthened, including educational, cultural, commercial and agricultural exchange. He also mentioned ongoing meetings of the joint agricultural committee between the two countries, held in Romania, which aim to enhance cooperation in food security and the exchange of agricultural products.
During the meeting, the prime minister went over regional developments, including the Palestinian issue, and anti-terrorism efforts within a comprehensive strategy.
The two sides also explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in military and defence fields, and ways to facilitate the exchange of expertise between the two countries’ armed forces. The Romanian minister likewise stressed the need to enhance cooperation between both countries.
