AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) busted a major drug operation in Amman, apprehending one of the city's “most dangerous and armed” drug dealers.

According to the Public Security Directorate spokesperson, the suspect is believed to have been involved in trafficking 400,000 narcotic pills.

Acting on a tip-off received by the police, the AND conducted a raid in an uninhabited area in eastern Amman, where five bags of drugs were found buried in the ground.

One of the suspects in connection with the case was spotted and arrested, as noted by the police source, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In a separate case, AND agents raided the house of another suspected drug trafficker in the central Badia region.

After the raid, the suspect was arrested and 35 palm-sized sheets of hashish and 6,000 narcotic pills were confiscated.
